Hmm...

Its been long time, I opened my BLOG. Thanks to my Orkut friend(alekhya), for mentioning about my blog.

From last 3 years life is going on.. and on .. and on.

Many Good news, and few sad things.. and over all going good. But still not satisfied. Looking back, whats wrong and how to fix it. The answer to first one is simple. Most of the things I do, I am very aggressive during the start. But before I finish, I start on another task aggressively that I leave the earlier one unfinished. Hmm.. pretty sad.

Answer to the second one, fixing it is not impossible, but difficult. And I am not trying for it. Its all in ATTITUDE and it evolves naturally. I am in the process of fixing it naturally.

There are thousands of things I love to do, and couple of things I must do. Life is a limited edition have to narrow down. Mostly now doing what I want to do at the present moment.

The thousands of things I love to do fall under categories,

- spend time with family

- keep in very good touch with friends

- follow technology and experiment

- learning arts, the list is very long.

- take a long leave, and work at farms for 2 years.

Few things I want to do,

- Show helping hand.

- Leave city life(at least buzy life) and live understanding the meaning of life.

Life is going on. If I want to show my life as a movie, its was sort of interesting to watch until I was 25. But screen play is not so good for the last 3 years. Hopefully, I can make it better and orient to a THEAM.

By the way, I am listening to Kites songs, they are good, and so is my mood. :)

During child hood, I always wanted to grow faster and get rid of childhood. But it went well when I look back now.

During B.Tech days, I felt I was wasting time & spoiling my career. But it went well when I look back.

Every stage of life and every moment of life has its own value.

Every moment is equally precious, when looked at it correctly.

If you dont think, change the angle and look at it again :)

GANA-ADYAKSHA ::: THE LONGEST CONTEST

Do u know the story about GANA-ADYAKSHA selection...
(the story that explains how Vinayak has become Gana-pati)
Here is a variation of it..

one day two brothers(who joined b.tech after diploma) of kailas(vnr college, cse99 batch) participated in a context,

big brother Vinayak(sushmita) was cool, calm & thoughtful.
younger one Subramanya(kp) was too excited, confident & aggressive.

Finally one day, a discussion about who is best came in kailas..
All the nandi, brungi and other gana people(chanti, hrishi, diwakar .. other our tottigang) declared, being elder & wise Vinayak is of preference.
But subramanya wanted to get it proved.

The contest started,

Subramanya flied on his swift peacock(fickle, unplanned, follows short cuts) ,
Vinayak smiled and did not want to compete.. it just did it normal duties with help of mushika(cool tempered, well planned, hardworking).

Task1:
Before joining B.Tech Subramanya already knew C programming well, so he used to explain it to all his 1st year class friends.
Before joining B.Tech Vinayak knew C, C++, Java, so he used to discuss & clarify doubts of 2nd,3rd year seniors.

Task2:
Subramanya enjoyed b.tech life with friends, movies, parties. He was top 2 in 1st year but finally turned up as top 10-15 in class.
Vinayak enjoyed b.tech in his own way, but was consistently stood in top 3 always from 2nd year to final year.

Task3:
Subramanya created his brand on programming contests(more than 8 prizes) ,
But by that time, Vinayak excelled in both programming & paper presentation contests.

Task4:
Subramanya wanetd to show his ability and nearly got 10 job offers and finally joined Oracle.
But by that time Vinayak already settled quite comfortably in Oracle.

Task5:
Subramanya struggled for 2 years for marraige and finally got married to the one he liked.
Vinayak, with out any worries, got married to one and lived as happyly as Subramanya.

Task6:
Subramanya went for higher education, bagged job at Google as 2 years experienced guy.
As usual our Vinayak already cracked Google as 4+ years of experienced guy and settled well there too.


So, finally Subramanya went to Vinayak and praied Vinayak's abilities & strengths.


wait wait the story doesn't end here.

When Subramanya asked what is the secret of Vinayak's strength...
Vinayak smiled and said..

"BOOST IS SECRET OF MY ENERGY"

Now subramanya is running to buy Boost. :D
Is the contest on again... (he he he . just kidding )

PS: There was infact no contest or competition between kp & sushmita.
Since we are peers, having similar background and going through various stages almost con-temporally, just thought of a story for fun.

OOPS Came to know that, sushmita did not try for Google. But thats not a big deal for her to crack G. Are u thinking then where the news came from? There is a guy Sunil(aka Smilies Sunil) a fiction story creator, unfortunately my b.tech classmate. There were hundreds of stories that spead the college where all people say "flash flash .. do u know this", when we finally trace the source, it turns out to be our Smily sunil. This time I became the victim. Anyways due to his spam story this posting is created. Nonetheless I am sure, I will see sushmita some where on my way ahead.

Time for conclusion

Many things happened on my project...
Now hardly 1 month left for any work...

Still many new points of work are coming up..
Not clear.. what to do.. what to stop..
Hav to freeze them all and conclude my MTP.

Thursday 4:45pm, 24th May 2007

After the interview, in 3 days got a call from the Google HR, tht I cleared the interviews. But she added, still some process is there that need to be followed ( my transcripts, my achievements, feedback letters from ex-colleagues/professors)

Its been over a week I submitted my transcripts, Almost daily I was expecting the call. Yesterday saw my favorite black dress. I like to be in Black dress most of the times. But one day, Sowjanya (my wife) took me to a Swamiji, who suggested me not to wear any black dress. From then, when ever I wear black dress, my wife used to argue that all the bad things(even silly things) were due to the black dress. For her, gradually I stayed away from black dress. Recently I got a Black T-shift from Google. Thought of wearing it. Since the day was a expected day to listen from Google, I got fear to wear it. Yesterday night I had Amazon interview(telecon) also. There is a quote, "If u have fear of something, do it. Fear will go off.". So, dressed up as MAN-IN-BLACK. Waited the entire day, no mail/call from Google. No preparation for Amazon interview. At 9:30pm I had the telecon, being not in a mood to prepare for it, just went out for dinner and roamed till 9:20pm. Finally, the amazon guy called and rescheduled the interview to next day (today). Hm.. the day neighter turned out to be good nor bad. So could not conclude anything abt the black dress.


One week back, while submitting the transcripts I got to know that my another friend from IIT Bombay, Sourab Pratap also appeared Google Hyd the very next day to that of mine. He was the same guy who stood second in the written test results of MicroSoft-Oncampus test, where I was standing the first in the list. But due to very silly mistakes that I could have rectified easily, I lost the chance to get the offer. Sourab got the offer on the same day. This time also its Sourab's day. One hour back he mailed me saying he got the offer. Unfortunately, the internet was down, so I could not check the mails. Being not able to resist I just called up the google HR, Anuradha. She told me that, she will get back to me. Hope it will be my day also.

Thought of working, but no mood. Went for a walk. This type of waiting is exactly the same when I was waiting in the corredors of Infotech(the first company I worked), waiting for the results of Oracle. Its the same waiting I waited a night for Amazon till morning 5AM. In those two cases, I heard a good news that I got the offer. What happens this time is a suspense still...

If I dont get the offer from Google, I should get into Amazon/MicroSoft/DeShaw Hyderabad, inorder to settle in Hyderabad.

Another weakness in me, Cant work in a tensy,suspense mood(now). Hmm.. good & rare chance, let me experiment on me. Will try to explore some Java API's for my mtp.

Two Great Days

April 11th & 12th May 2007 were days filled with lots of memories.
These were the days, when I went for Google Hyderabad Interviews and visited my home after a long while.


I applied to Google, Hyderabad through my senior Srivatsa during first week of March.

After a long wait, HR from G-Hyd team called me on 13th April. I felt it as a chat rather an interview, she asked my interest towards technologies, my MTP(m.tech project). It went for 20 mins and thats it. Next day I got a call from her, scheduling my telephonic round on 24th April 2007. She gave me lot of suggestion abt how to prepare what to prepare.

Being occupied with my academic stuff & lazyness hardly I could prepare anything. Just brushed up my algo, OOPs, C basics. On 24th April I got a call from Ms. Rashmi(working from USA team now). She asked me abt my MTP for 15 mins followed by 2 technical questions and 1 puzzle. Everything was over in abt 25mins. She gave lot of explanation abt the profile I am being taken for, Google Internal Applications Development. To my surprise lot of stress was onto Java as technology development. So felt preparation on Java concepts would have made the situation better. Though I answered everything very promptly, I was not happy since the questions were not difficult.

Very soon got a call for onsite interview on 11th May. Since my parents, sister, brother stay in Hyderbad, I gave my preference of 10th night for onward Journey, 11th interview, 12th night return journey to mumbai. Thanks to google they accepted my request. 9th May was my wife's Bday & 10th May my prof(mtp guide) was leaving to France as a visiting professor. 9th May we had big plan to go to many places, but it was a flop. 8th evening from 6pm to 11:30pm we had a ride & diner out side.

10th afternoon started looking at syntaxes of Java. 10th evening with help of bike ride with santy (santosh, my iit bombay batch-mate) reached Shivaji Domestic Airport, mumbai just in time 6:45pm.
Was lucky to reach in time but unlucky since by that time all window seats are occupied. This was my first journey with KingFisher, wow that was amazing. Unlike my earlier journies with Jet Airways, SpiceJet this time I did not have to take any cab to get into the flight. Just walked for some distance through some sky bridge and directly entered the flight. The feel of Red seats, pillows in the seats(First Class seats), the visible white cool breezes over the luggage cupboards was too good to feel. In 10 mins of slow journey of the flight it reached the runway. Then just with lot of sound and wonderful pickup in 35 seconds with the speed of 250+ kmph we were in sky. Wow great feel. Since it was night and since no window seat the journey for the next 1 hour was just normal. Had non-veg dinner. Took the feedback form and gave full ratings to most of the options.

Reached the Begumpet airport, Hyderabad at 9:45pm. A cab driver, Manohar was holding a play-card with my name. He dropped us to the Google guest house(24/7 INN) in road no 12, jubli hills. Watched TV (aah after a very long time) from 10:30-11pm. Then brushed up some concepts of Java till 12 night and slept. Around 1am another guy joined my room. He was Vikas Kumar Bansal, from near Delhi. He had the interview the next day at 8:30am.

The next day morning, Google Cab came to take him to the office. I asked my brother to come over to the guest house. We had chat for some time and time for catch the cab has come. Reached the Google office, RMZ, behind Cyber Gateway at 1:15pm. Bad luck, could not take the picture of the building. I heard couple of times abt the Google ofice. It was just as I expected. I had to enter my details on a computer and give a digital signature. Sign on an NDA(Non-Disclosure Agreement form). Got a sticker my name & detailed printer on it. I had to stick it over my pocket. Hmm.. a new way of giving a visitor pass.

I had 4 rounds that I rate myself A, A-, A+ and A+ from 2pm to 6:
Very soon couple of guys came and asked me whether I wanted to have some snacks etc. A HR lady gave me feedback form along with Goodies(A bag containing, 'I am feeling lucky' T-Shirt, Google pen and a notebook). It was a long while I waited for that T-Shirt. Felt very happy receiving them. While leaving I got a chance to thank the Google Staffing Officer Ms Anuradha who took lot of strain to organize my interview.


A cab driver (Raj) dropped me upto my home. We shared a tomato-juice tin that I brought from G-canteen. Had a nice chat with him. During the journey, he would have said to me atleast 2 or 3 times " IF U GET AN OFFER, JOIN GOOGLE. THERE IS NO BETTER COMPANY IN HYDERABAD, IN TERMS OF PAY, WORK AND OTHER PROVISIONS. GOOGLE IS THE BEST". I asked him how does he know? I said very confidently, I spoke to many guys while dropping them at home. It was nice to know what public over there thinks about the company. We chatted over various other things like real estate boom in Hyderabad, about his personal life and about my personal life, wile enjoying the movie songs in the cab. Reached home at 7:30pm

Dad was very happy to see me after a long while. Another reason for his happiness was, my attempts & interest to settle in Hyderabad. Chicken curry was the dinner special. Waited for my dearest brother Satish to come. He came at 10:30pm. Mean while met my sister and played with my niece.

Dad likes weekends alot. Bcos he records all the things he wanted to fix in home and targets them to be addressed on weekends by us(me/my brother). So the next day, Saturday our day started with a morning walk, dad took me to thru entire Pragati Nagar(my colony) and showed the gigantic constructions coming over. He was sad about upcoming problems water scarcity. There is a very big and beautiful lake near my home. But dad says after 4 years everybody will be buying water for house needs. As part of home work, he watered the plants in the garden and fixed a flower plant which was growing very randomly. Bought 3 fans and replaced them with new one.

In the evening it was one of my good friend CHAITANYA(chanti)'s marriage reception. My flight was at 9:20pm and the reception start at 7pm. It was nearly 20km from the reception hall to the airport.
To my surprise I was the first person to enter the reception hall at 7:15pm. No hosts, no guests. We waited till 8pm many hosts & guests came. But our hero was missing. I could not wait any more so wished him on the phone and left the hall at 8:05pm.

I should take my boarding pass by 9:05pm to catch the flight. Huh.. time to feel tensed. The entire root was very much jammed, so there were many moments I left the hopes of catching the flight. On the way, I enquired abt the flight, they said it was on time :(( Fortunately, instead of catching an auto/bus I planned it on my bother Satish's bike. So his speed was the only hope for me to cross the 20km lengh traffic in 60mins.


First, 5 km -> it took 15 mins, time was already 8:20pm. I told to my brother, "unless we use every opportunity on the road we cant catch the flight". Now his speed was varying from 20km to 80km based on the opportunity.

Next 5kms -> it took 10mins,(8:30pm) bit of hope was there, but the driving was too scary. Generally I drive fast, but my brother is even faster. Unfortunately, I cant believe on his driving, since he doesnt follow traffic rules, safe distance, doest use indication lamps. So kept on telling him to follow rules properly. At some times I told him lets forget the flight and be alive.


Next 5kms -> It took 10mins (8:40pm), Aah too scary driving. Enquired abt the flight. They said it was on time. Now its 5kms pending to be reached in 20mins. Though we had reasonable time, just to be in margin of safety now driving was like dhoni. in 7mins we covered the 5km and were quite in time. Took a snap with my bro.

Took the boarding pass right at 9pm. Unfortunately, no window seats again. Went to a waiting hall. At 9:05 an announcement about my flight that it is 15mins late. :) I had no other expression to keep on. Waited till 9:30pm and entered the flight. It started at 9:40pm. Thanks to my neighbor who offered me window seat unasked.

Unlike my onward journey, this time I wanted to make some statistics about the flight journey. For every minute, the information like speed of flight, height, temperature out side, distance to be covered still, estimated time remaining was flashing on the screen.

This data was pretty much interesting for me, the Height Vs Temperature,Speed Vs Height, Distance to Distance, Time Remaining. The last two calculations were not as per standard formulas, but were heuristic taking many other facts into consideration.

Reached Mumbai at 10:55pm. It took buses to reach home. Got a new friend in the bus who accompanied me for nearly 1km walk from bus stop to home. By 1am was in my sweet home.

Hectic Life- Cool Breaks

There are there major laps during the m.tech project (mtp)
stage1, stage2 & final defense.

The first two stages went so busy that all my leaves were just got piled. Looks like God ordered me to make use of them..


Soon after 2nd stage, took a 10 days leisure trip during Jan last weeks.
went to our home,( from left top its, kaka, jiji, dada, jija, mousi, sowjanya, me & brother satish)

and then to sowjanya's home in Munagala Village, Nalgonda Dt
(bava, sowjanya, her grand ma, mama, attayya)

During February last week 5 days trip for
my brother's engagement (satish & geetha)

Again March first week
4 days of trip for sister's New House ceremony


and my best pal Raju's Marriage.



and another 5 days trip for SA-N-GEETH (SAtish-N-GEETHa) marriage.


Thank god we missed the train for his marriage, we experienced our first flight from mumbai to chennai.

Lots of breaks during work, but still the mtp continues


With all these, even sowjanya got habituated to wandering..
That, now a weekly shopping or roaming is a must.

When I thought of doing higher studies after marriage, Everyone said I am inviting troubles leaving my job in Oracle. & studying besides taking care of sowjanya

He he he.. they dint know, I took care of sowjanya during my 4 years of B.tech & could study still. Sowjanya was my lucky symbol for all my college exams, other competitive exams.

Time is rolling, 2 years of my stay in Mumbai is going to be over soon...

Got a job in Adobe, Noida. But should get crack another job soon.. to settle in Hyderabad or Blore atleast.

Once upon a time there were a boy & a girl

Once upon a time there lived a boy & a girl in two very distant villages.

The girl was nice, cute, calm going. All the neighbors appreciate & like that girl very much.

They boy was naughty, teasing & bugging. People who even heard of the boy, used to keep their children away from him.


They were just 4 years, and bagged such a mark among the people.

Days passed..

Months passed..

Years passed...

After 13 years they both joined same college.

Ragging, Eve teasing, Boring lectures, Hectic labs, assignments were the daily routine there.

The girl appeared to be scared of all these, so the boy made it easier & enjoyable to the girl. They both appeared to be special for each other. The boy used to think of the girl all the time in all the things he does. So was the girl.



Almost every day was a memorable between them. Before they could see back what happened between them, the final days of the collage neared.

One evening, the boy just wanted to say.. "I care for you so much" but unpacking the truth, it turned out to be "I cant see my life without you , I wanna marry you". The girl smiled inside & said "NO". The answer was obvious for the boy.

The further path was no easy between them, but their mutual company dint turn them down any time.


Finally both got jobs, parents were convinced...
They got married,



Besides caring, praising, admiring, caring, loving they learned many things more

and are living happyly..

Craaaaaazzzy

Aaah....

After seeing THE ONE(earlier blog), I had to spend 4 puzzled/suspenseful days to get a job. Finally got into ADOBE on 5th Dec. From then a series of good news, good marks in courses ends exams. Two AB in both the subjects I took. Looked like all the rest of season is set good for me and I am the king.



(A country boy pose of course ;) ) But this dint last longer.


Project season is again back, started looking at my old friend(m.tech project) from 7th dec. As of today second stage deadline in 20 days.
Very hard to believe, in 20 day I have to improve the project in many faces.

Working sometimes gives lot of satisfaction, I believe this satisfaction is more than earning money, settling well, enjoying luxuries. But its some times very frustrating as well. Its a very unbearable state, when someone claims "All the work you have don't is just a crap. It has no good foundations to support/prove."

The same happened with me :( . From last two days I felt I gave good shape to my project. But yesterday after a prolonged discussion with my mentor most of my assumptions were unaccepted. Besides undoing the work, Nearly 10-15 small, big new things came on the to-do list.

Aaaaaahhh.... Craaaaaazzy.

What to do now? I was enthu to do a new design, but could not digest that I have to purge all my design. Just was dumb, went back to home, slept for 11 hrs( my usual time). Today in the lab just was analyzing the entire design, making a new design for the new tasks. After few more discussions with others, came to know, my assumptions were correct.

Oh my!!! Really Crazy. Different people.. different opinions. Dead line reaching like a flood. What to implement and what Not. I dont think I will be able to attend my first International Paper Presentation at my home town Hyderabad(coming Jan 1st week).

God only knows, what he is expecting me to do in this UNSETTLED mood.

But mazza tho jaroor ayega.

Hopefully by next blog u may know, what I DO when every thing looks CRAAAAZY.

The One

Nearly from one month IIT bombay was spread with CAMPUS PLACEMENTS FEVER, especially last week was intensed most. But all the time I had small thought "WHO WILL BE THE ONE WHO GETS THE FIRST OFFER from our batch"

The day came finally today. Today MicroSoft, Google interviews went on. After written test, out of nearly 200 people MS short listed 20 people and out of 60 people Google shortlisted around 12 people.

In MicroSoft there were around 8 members from our class. I was one of them. So I was a bit exited to know abt "THE ONE"

My rounds went a bit bad, so after 2 rounds each of an hour they said "BYE BYE". After another 1 and 1/2 hour some body were saying " SANTY got the offer".

Yes ... am very happy to C the guy as none other than one of my closest friend SANTOSH. He just cracked the rounds and got offered after 3 rounds.

CONGRADULATIONS SANTOSH

I am bit sad since I lost opportunity to make into one of the good companies of Hyderabad. Another hope is there from Hyderabad - AMAZON.

Tomorrow is AMAZON's writtentest. Lets hope I can make it.

IITB life - Courses Farewell

"After all TIME rules and wins over every thing."

I had lot of schedules, plans to do during IIT education. But none of them turned out to be true. (dont ask me what they are) I wish i had some more time. but unlike me TIME always has clear vision and meets its deadlines.

The 3rd semister turned out to be the same like previous semisters, OK kind of time. But could have made it much better. My friendly enimies EXCESS SLEEP, WATCHING MOVIES again won over me. In this semister I saw one guy, Manish with whom I partnered for my course projects, assignments. The most impressive personality interms of planning himself. I am sure he will reach heights and become a celebrity. He neither a gifted child, nor he is a over hard worker. The only two positive points in him are, He just plans what to do, and irrespective of interruptions, makes sure he does them. The things he does are easy to say, but very difficult to do.

VISION + IMPLEMENTATION = SUCCESS

I dont know how, always i see some STAR-factor in me, in other words luck, which makes me to handle any situation, whther its project, course exams or a presentation, result will be OK or above Avg. From my 10+2, I was getting results like topping class, winning in programming contests, competitive exams. My formula was simple, look at things simpler, if they are complicated, make ur assumptions/reasoning to simplify it. At worst case just look at the title guess what ever u want and proceed. Fortunately it worked all the time. But I hate this really, result with hardword is tastier for sure, hope I will have the taste. ( i had the taste while topping in school and topping in campus during APRJC coaching)

Today was the last exam. SFML(Statistical foundations of Machine Learning). Other than M.Tech project no other works for next 7-8 months. Looking back to my whole courses they are good and interesting, Covering the machine learning

Machine Learning : Artificail Inteligence, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Graphical Models, Information Retrival and SFML.

Keeping a side the fact how much I actually learnt, These courses give a broad choice for the career. Am I really going to do one of these as part of my course, NOT AT ALL SURE.

Lets C. The placement season has anyways begun. Nov 30th - Dec 10th will the days that will decide most of final year IIT people's fate. Though we have another choice to try for offcampus later, this campus placement period is best time to prove one's caliber.

Like any one else, I am also about to start my preparation for campus placements. Will be glad to recieve ur wishes.
